BetterWorld is set up for online and in-person bidding in real time, so that people can bid by phone, computer, and table (regardless of where they are). Functionally, this is closest to an 'online silent auction'. The benefit to this is that everything is instant and seamless. No paper bid sheets, nothing manual -- just one system where everyone can participate and support your cause in real-time.
Although COVID has forced many events to go virtual, we strongly believe that the future of fundraising is hybrid. The convenience of digital is here to stay, but there's also a certain magic with in-person events. For this reason, much of our work right now with BetterWorld is oriented toward serving hybrid events, where guests can participate at your venue or at home. 
Aside from mobile-optimized design, the biggest key to successful hybrid events is making it easy for guests to be able to donate and bid from their phones. The easiest way to get people to that is either scanning QR code or entering in a short-link that directs people to the auction. e.g. bwc.io/napa (We can create one of these for you -- just ask!). Alternatively, emailing guests with a link to the bidding or donation pages is another easy solution.
Once the event ends, all cards can be charged with a single click, receipts issued automatically, and winners connected with their items -- regardless of where they are.
