Yep - BetterWorld is really free!
Our mission at BetterWorld is to provide best-in-class fundraising tools for individuals and organizations around the country. And we want to make it completely free for nonprofits, so that the amazing organizations who are using our platform can keep 100% of what they raise!
We don't sell data, share email lists with advertisers, or insert tacky ads on fundraising pages. We don't withhold premium features or limit the number of team members, items, or campaigns that organizations can do. Simply put, we don't believe the size of your budget should dictate the quality of fundraising tools available to you.
Here's the full debrief on any fees or upgrades associated with BetterWorld.
Free Forever: This is the free version of all of our tools. On this plan, BetterWorld prompts donors for a suggested (but entirely optional) contribution on winning bids, purchased tickets etc.. This helps cover the costs of running each campaign and helps nonprofits keep 100% of what they raise. (Donors may also elect to not cover this if they are prefer not to contribute.)
Flex: This plan is designed for organizations that would prefer to remove the optional donor contributions, without upgrading to a paid membership (Partner or Enterprise). On this plan, a small fee applies to transactions, ranging from 1% to 5%, which can be hidden from donors and simply deducted from dollars raised or it can be made visible as an optional or required selection.
Partner: This plan is for organizations that prefer to help cover the costs for their campaigns themselves instead of asking donors to contribute. There's a $1,550 annual membership and a 1% fee on transactions. It's the exact same software as the Free Forever plan, just a slightly different way our platform can be supported for organizations that prefer to help cover the cost of their campaign themselves.
Concierge: For most organizations, we route support questions through our support tickets and our help section. For organizations that would like a little more personalized guidance and support, we offer a concierge level of support for $275 per event that gives you a dedicated team member (one of our partners) to assist along the way to ensure your campaign goes smoothly and performance is optimized.
Credit Card Costs: Our goal with payment processing is to ensure safe, secure, low-cost transactions, and to do everything we can do to ensure that nonprofits can keep 100% of the dollars they raise. Our payment processor, Stripe, charges 2.9% + $0.30 per credit card transaction.
