Our mission at BetterWorld is to provide best-in-class fundraising tools to organizations and individuals around the country (and soon, hopefully the world!). We want to make it completely free for nonprofits to raise funds so that organizations can keep 100% of the dollars they raise. There are real costs involved in sustainably maintaining, hosting, and building a world-class platform and in running campaigns for our nonprofit partners. To cover these costs, we have two different plans that organizations can use when they raise funds.
Free Forever
This is the default plan on BetterWorld. This plan is completely free for nonprofits and is supported by a suggested contribution on winning bids, giveaway tickets etc. 100% of all contributions go to help cover the cost of running your campaign - such as data security, web hosting and customer support. Donors who prefer not to contribute can opt out -- at no cost to your organization. (Behind the scenes, there are some groups where all donors contribute, and some groups where no donors contribute. Either way, your organization will still always be able to access free, excellent fundraising tools and amazing support.)
Partner Plan
Some organizations prefer to help cover the cost of running their campaign themselves. We totally get it -- as it's one less thing for an individual to think about. For $1,550/year and a 1% fee on transactions, an organization can upgrade to our Partner Plan and remove the suggested contributions from all of their campaigns for a year. Same as with the Free Forever plan, it's unlimited everything and we never take a percentage or fee away from the dollars you raise. To sign up, once you're logged into the dashboard, click on the profile image on the top, right-hand corner, then select "Your Membership Plan".
Of note -- even though this article is about the difference between Free and Partner plans, it's worth noting that we offer two additional plans for organizations. The first is our Flex Plan - which costs $0 and removes the optional donor contributions ... instead replacing with a 1% - 5% fee on transactions. This can either be simply deducted from dollars raised, or presented to donors as an optional or required addition to their donation. The second is our Enterprise Plan, which is intended for groups raising over $2M / year on BetterWorld (or for national organizations with numerous sub-chapters.)
