How to fix an incorrect (administrator's) name on a donation

I'm an account administrator, and a donor's donation is coming up under my name, how can I fix this?

If you are trying to make a donation on a donor's behalf while logged into your BetterWorld account, your name will appear on the donation. This is why we advise you to avoid making donations on behalf of another person - instead, you can help the donor make a donation on their device. This way, their personal information will be saved in their own account, which will make future donations even easier! Here is a helpful support video that you can share with your donors on how to create a donation on a standard donation campaign. Of note, for standard donation campaigns, BetterWorld account creation is not required. If you would really like to make a standard donation on behalf of a donor, just be sure to log out of your BetterWorld account first!

If you are an account administrator and you allow other team members to be logged into your account to edit your dashboard, you may run into an issue when this team member goes to make a donation and they realize they are still logged into your account - the donor name will show up incorrectly! You can actually invite team members to edit your dashboard from their own BetterWorld account, which will prevent this mix up from happening - check out this support article on how to do this!

Because you (the account administrator) were logged in when the donation was placed, all of the donor's info is now saved under your account. We cannot change this information because the  personal information of the donor (the credit card number and address) is now attached to your (the administrator's) personal account. If you go to Donor management, in your dashboard, you (the account administrator) will now have two addresses (one of which is the donor's) listed under "contact information."
 

Here'e how to fix it!

 
First, you will need to refund the donation that was placed under your account, and have the donor redo the donation under their account. To issue a refund, head to payments and payouts > payments received on your dashboard, then select the three dots in the actions column beside the incorrect donation and click 'issue refund'
 
Then you have to go to account.betterworld.org and fix your personal information.  Under "settings" you (the account administrator) will have to delete the donor's card from "payment methods" and delete the donor's address as well. The donor should be good because the donor wasn't under their personal account when making the donation, but it's still good for the donor to log into their account and check that they have the correct payment method and address listed in their "settings"

Now, the donor can stay logged into their account and make their donation! Their name will now display on their donation.
